This is a team we couldn’t be prouder to showcase, and happier to give them an opportunity to tell you how the year has been, and what they expect 2017 to deliver on:
Anthony: (Managing Director)
Well, where do we start?!
In 2014 I was working on a $100 10″ laptop from my spare bedroom, presenting to clients and working late nights all week round. Fast forward 2 years later and it’s amazing to pause for a second and take a look at the talent and passion around us, which is Firefly. Each team member brings specialist talents, passion and hard-work to the table which is ultimately how we have got to where we are today. The culture at Firefly is hard to explain and more something to feel and experience, but you can tell there is an electrifying buzz in the air.
Thank you very much to all of our staff, suppliers and customer partners who have been part of our journey, and ultimately allowed us to be a part of theirs. 2016 has been a great year.
I am very excited to see more businesses succeed in the New Zealand and Australian market place as the digital arena opens up a level playing field for all to participate in, and it is the smart, willing and adapting businesses that are capitalising on this. We can’t wait to work with you.
Marko: (Director)
2016 will be remembered as the year of change, learning and achievement for Firefly. Reflecting on the year’s achievements, I can’t help but feel immense pride in what the team has achieved and the effort put in for the company to go from strength to strength.
The notable moments that define this pride would be Google handpicking us to become a Premier Partner, bestowing us a title only a handful of agencies in NZ can brag about; alongside being selected as a finalist in the International Landy Award for Best Overall SEM Initiative for Small Business.
This rapid growth has meant new challenges and solutions; devising new strategies and defining new horizons; and has seen the team grow with new staff members genuinely enthused to see how successful Firefly can become. We have never been more excited for the future, with new developments coming 2017 to establish Firefly at the front of the pack. To all, I wish you a merry and safe festive season and a happy new year.
Glen: (Chairman)
It’s been a year or political intrigue, global unrest and geological upheavals; but I am proud to say the team at Firefly Search Limited continues to go from strength to strength.
It’s great to be surrounded by a team that is passionate to improve the client experience through greater results, customer relationships and dedicated focus which is reflected in our recent Google Premier Partners acknowledgement.
Our team look forward to enhancing businesses in New Zealand and Australia heading into 2017. A very Merry Christmas to you all!

After such a whirlwind of year, it’s nice to step back and look at the huge milestones that my family and I have experienced.
From my two part wedding in Omaha and Cape Town; welcoming our newest family member, Zara the Swiss Shepherd; watching our daughter start her school journey; to buying our first home in Gulf Harbour; 2016 has shown me how much life can be lived in a year! All of this came with the unceasing support from my other family: the team at Firefly.
Looking forward, I see that here at Firefly we are growing more and more into our position in the industry and would love to see just how high we can reach in 2017! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Its been a great year for Firefly and to see how its grown from its humble beginnings! Moving into the new space and see it starting to fill up with new faces has made coming into work a daily event.
Getting to know the team, watching them get more comfortable as the weeks go by and becoming mates over time has been really rewarding. Whether its office banter over the radio, the classic lunchtime chats or getting to work alongside talent on a project, the little moments are what makes it special.
There is an energy at Firefly that is ready to explode into 2017 and I for one can’t wait to see what happens next! Have a great holiday season guys!
Morgan: (Social Media Strategist)
I think that 2016 has undeniably been a massive year for everyone both globally and right here in New Zealand. We’ve seen a changing of the guard in the media, in businesses and, of course, in politics.
Even for me a changing of the guard has occurred. I have left the comfort of university and started along the path of the ‘Real Job,’ albeit one in social media! Social media is a true business juggernaut and one that I have discovered to have a real passion for; a passion that can solely be attributed to my work in the Firefly team!
2016 was a massive year of milestones for Firefly and has paved the way for 2017 to be even bigger. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Michael: (Account Manager)
It has been an interesting 8 months working at Firefly. I have learnt a great deal, grown significantly into my role and have had a lot of fun along the way with the team.
Having reached a personal goal of purchasing an investment property and having gained a lot of confidence over this year in my role here at Firefly I can’t wait for what waits for us in 2017. I think it would be fantastic to reach our team goals, take a trip and celebrate together at what we have accomplished.

We are almost at the summit of another incredible year and what a successful year it’s been!
Personally, I have further developed my professional skills, receiving my second bachelor degree and passed the Analytics & Adwords exams. Perhaps the most exciting news for me is finding a position at Firefly that lets me excel in my strengths and lets me experience the incredible beauty of New Zealand.
With the new year comes new plans, new opportunities and new adventures that are just around the corner. I wish you all the very best for Christmas and New Year ahead!
Scotty: (Intern)
It is only by going through the deepest of valleys do we truly experience the highest of mountaintops – Richard Nixon. Every year possess a series of peaks and valleys but perhaps 2016 will be remembered for it more than any other.
Personally I have a lot to thank Firefly for in helping me experience such a peak. By being on call to help with any and all projects for all members of the team, I am fortunate enough to see these maestros’ work their magic. What’s more, their openness, nurturing approach and trust has led me to grow leaps and bounds despite the short time I have worked here.
Wherever the journey leads, I am excited to continue into the new year and beyond alongside such quality. Have yourself a merry little Christmas and Happy New Year.
